The reason we chose this topic this year is because the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma is still very under highlighted in a lot of courses. The treatment options of HCC has progressed by leaps and bounds in the last few years. As with any cancer, early detection and proper choice of treatment has the ability to cure or prolong survival in patients. The importance of viral hepatitis control to delay HCC must be educated to the medical practitioners.
Hence we hope that after this update, the options of treatment will be clearer and this will lead to earlier referral to the proper subspeciality for better treatment of our patients
